I most recently worked as a 6th grade teacher at New Hope for Cambodian Children - a.k.a NHCC international school for 3 years, an NGO based in rural Cambodia.
The school was created by John and Kathy Tucker,
a couple from Texas who visited the country over 25 years ago and saw a need to make a safe haven/learning environment for orphans who are HIV positive.
Working with the staff and the students there really shaped the person who I am today,
I'll be forever grateful for my time there and for those I met along the way. The school relies solely on donations,

When I turned 21 I joined an overseas ICS volunteer programme, with the hope of making a real difference somewhere in the world, where there was a need.
I was blessed to be sent to a rural village called Sangilo based in Malawi, Africa, where I lived with my host family the Harawas.
Our misson was to help build a new school and to create a new curriculum whilst helping out at the local nursery.
What started as just an idea, turned into one of the most life changing, rewarding, mind blowing trips of my life.
The family I lived with, the culture I experienced and the life-long friends I gained are priceless.
Infomation on volunteer opportunities can be viewed on the ICS website...
